Scholarship Requirements

• Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a current senior at James Monroe High School

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • Must plan on attending a trade school, community college, or a four-year College/University

  • Must demonstrate financial need

• Application Components:

  • Completed Application Form: Available from the school's guidance office or online on the scholarship website.​

  • Financial Need Statement: A brief statement detailing your financial need.

  • Personal Essay OR Video: Write a 300-500 word essay OR create a 3-5 minute video providing:

    1. A brief background

    2. Describing your educational goals and how this scholarship will help you achieve them

    3. Your vision for giving back to the community.

  • TWO Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or community leaders who can speak to your character, academic achievements, and community involvement.

  • Transcript: An official high school transcript showing your academic performance.

• Application Deadline:

  • Applications must be submitted by April 4, 2025.

• Award Details:

  • The scholarship will be a one-time award of $1,000.

    • $1,000 will be sent straight to the College/University

  • The recipient will be announced during the senior awards ceremony at James Monroe High School.
